Where are Greenleaf products made?

All Greenleaf products are designed at our office by the sea in the ancient Japanese capital of Kamakura. Our OEKO-TEX certified factory assembles the products in the northern Chinese province of Heibei, famous for the Great Wall of China. The factory's proximity to the sustainably managed bamboo forests limits transportation of the raw materials prior to production, thus lowering the carbon footprint.

What thread count are the sheets?

Thread Count is the number of horizontal and vertical threads per square inch. While the density of threads is relative to the fabric, higher thread count usually means softer sheets in that specific fabric. Bamboo sheets typically come in 300 and 400 thread count. 400 being the highest available thread count for bamboo fiber. Greenleaf sheets exclusively utilize 400 thread count...and it shows. Although 300 thread count sheets are comfortable. 400 thread count is immediately noticeable as much softer and more luxurious.

Do bamboo sheets wrinkle?

Just like any natural fiber, bamboo can wrinkle. Only synthetic fibers made from petrochemical processes are less likely to wrinkle. To reduce wrinkling there are a couple of options. 1. Hang your sheets for the best results. However, since we all live in the 21st century this is not really an option for most. In that case, take your sheets out of the dryer (low heat only) right away to avoid big wrinkles setting in while in the dryer. 2. Fold your sheets right away. Folded sheets will show fewer wrinkles. Sheets that have been sitting in the basket for a long time will naturally get wrinkly. Greenleaf's 100% organic bamboo viscose fibers are great for you and the environment, but they do require a little more care than common synthetic fibers.

Do I need to wash my sheets before use?

You absolutely do not need to...but you can. As all Greenleaf products are OEKO-TEX certified, it means there are no harmful chemicals used in their production. So you can sleep easy knowing that you are safe and sound. However, Greenleaf sheets do get softer with every wash. (Hard to imagine but true) So go ahead and drop them in the wash and get ready for a great night's sleep.

How do I take care of my purchase?

Keeping Your Greenleaf Items Beautiful Congratulations! You have chosen the most luxurious sleep products in the world. To ensure you have the most comfortable and restful sleep experience possible, we have put together some friendly and helpful guidelines to keep your items in top-notch condition. TL;DR: Machine wash COLD and dry on LOW HEAT. No Bleach. No Dry cleaning. (For Elysium masks, place them in a mesh bag before washing.) Washing Wash Before Use: Give your new items a wash before using them. Our sheets are OEKO-TEX certified, they contain no harmful chemicals, so this is optional. However, they will become even softer!  (Hard to believe but true)Cold Water Wash: Whether you're using a washing machine or washing by hand, use cold water only. Avoid washing with hot water to preserve the silky, softness.Handle with Care: Wash your items on a gentle cycle.  Treat them gently and they will last a lifetime. (For Elysium masks, place them in a mesh bag.) Avoid the rough guys:  It is best to wash your Greenleaf items separately from other fabrics to avoid potential damage from zippers, hooks and such. Eliminate the Lint: Although Greenleaf products do not create lint on their own, you definitely want to avoid them picking up link from other materials.  Keep them as fresh as possible by separating them from towels and other lint-heavy materials. No Bleach: Bleach is a no-go! Using bleach can harm the fibers of any Greenleaf product. Let's keep them beautiful by avoiding any kind of bleach. No Dry Cleaning: Skip the dry cleaning process for your Greenleaf products. They are best cared for using the methods mentioned above. Removing Stains Due to the natural moisture-wicking properties of bamboo fibers, you may notice skin oils on the pillowcases. No worries! Just spray them with a laundry pre-treatment before washing them in cold water. We recommend testing any stain removers on the fabric bag your sheets came in just to be sure it does not damage your sheets. Drying Hanging: If possible, hang your items to dry. This helps maintain their fantastic feel night after night.  However, as we live in the 21st century you can throw them in the dryer just make sure to use a very low heat setting only. And don't forget to remove them from the dryer promptly to prevent wrinkles. (For Elysium masks, place them in a mesh bag.) Avoid the rough guys:  It is best to dry your Greenleaf items separately from other fabrics to avoid potential damage from zippers, hooks and such.
